4 tablespoons melted butter
4 onces goat cheese at room temperature
2 cups fresh strawberries, diced
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
Preheat oven to 375°
Slice your baguette into even diagonal slices, about ¾” thick. Place slices on a cookie sheet and spread the tops with the melted butter. Bake in the oven at 375° for 12-14 minutes until bread is golden brown.
While bread is in the oven, combine strawberries, basil, and balsamic vinegar in a small bowl.
Remove bread from the oven and spread goat cheese evenly over the toasted bread slices. Top with the strawberry mixture. Serve and enjoy!
For a sweeter version, replace the goat cheese, basil, and balsamic vinegar with a mixture of cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon juice.
